Police Guidance : 

 

  • Report a crime as soon as possible.

  • Don’t try to apprehend intruders.  Instead put a light on or do something to disturb them without confronting them.  Ring the police and ask for the Crime Report Number.

  • If the suspect is outside, open a window not a door.

  • Make sure that everything is locked.

  • Keep all keys out of sight/upstairs.  Do not leave keys in doors.

Community Wardens: Tel.  0800 085 3840 to help keep young people safe.

Crimestoppers: Tel. 0800 555 111 to report a crime anonymously.

Incident Reporting:

When reporting incidents give a brief description of events and include the following :-

 

  • What is happening?

  • How many involved? (Include approx. ages, gender, description, clothing)

  • Were they on foot/bicycles/vehicles?

  • How long have they been there?

  • What were they carrying?

  • Have they trespassed, stolen/broken anything?

  • Have you photographed them?
